Do you think the the Red and Blue states will ever become the United States again?

Or has the stage been set with so much division for so many years, that Americans will always hate other Americans who don't share their beliefs? And if so, who or what do you think is to blame. Personally, I think Evangelical Christians and conservative Christians tried to make religion so much a part of government, which created so much of the division, that that's where it all started.
