I read a book a while ago, which i loved but i cant remember its title or the authors name. see more detail!?

its set in italy or spain i think. there is a mother who runs a hotel and who doesnt really get on with her daughter who is called carmen. the mother used to be a model but the daughter doesnt konw until later in the book, in the town where they live there is a chapel and a sacred painting. they dont get many tourist but they move road signs around so tourist accidently end up in there town. carmen goes to clean the house of a man who has recently arrived back at the town he was friends with (and was in love) with her mother when they were younger. He owns lots of farmland that has fallen into disrepair. vineyards too i think. the painting in the church is stolen. and there is also something about the death of the mother's husband who was friends the the man who has just arrived in town. carmen also falls in love with a boy that come to elp out on the farm and her mother and the man (cant remember his name!) try to get them together. this is a simplistic plot line, because it was awhile ago and i cant remember more but its an incredible book!!!!!!
