Are American high schools like the movies?

There is some truth to the movies. They are overplayed and the stereotypes aren't that bad. So I guess the answer would be yes but much more mild. Homecoming is just a vote during school for the homecoming king and queen whenever you buy a ticket. There's a King and Queen for each grade. At least at my school there was. Umm yeah. That's about it.
