I have a pair of North Face Ultra 104 Gore-Tex XCR shoes that have been great. They are awesome for casual wear and work great for day hikes and through hikes where you move light and fast (I wore them for a 2 day through hike on Yellowstone's Lamar River Trail). I have worn them through late spring snow pack high in Idaho's Targhee National Forest and they kept my feet fairly dry and warm when coupled with a pair of Patagonia wool socks.
